Sontenish is a Jamaican American writer/director based in New York and a graduate of NYU's film program, where she is now an adjunct professor. Her recent short, Cross My Heart, screened at multiple global festivals including the Seattle International Film Festival and Palm Springs International Shortfest, where she was awarded the Alexis Award for Best Emerging Student Filmmaker. The film was also included in Refinery29's list of Most Exciting Woman-Directed Films. Her first feature film, Stampede, was accepted into IFP week and the Sundance, HIFF, and Film Independent Screenwriting labs.
